It was a spectacular Columbus Day weekend here in NY. This is my favorite time of year. Beautifully clear sunny days and gorgeous golden afternoons... a photographer's dream! I hit the road with the top down and camera at the ready to take in the color and light I wait for all year.

Yes, I said top down... But it can get a bit chilly this time of year at 70, uh, I mean 55. So I am unpacking my fall & winter clothes and contemplating my wardrobe updates... a semi-anual ritual that I have come to relish.  After hiding away for months in an attic, what was old is new again.  I dig through sweaters, boots, scarves & bags... suedes, cashmeres, delicious textures of all varieties. Some goes into the donation bin and some into my closet.  (Some gets put aside for when I lose just a few more pounds!) Then comes the fun part... adding some new fall styles to freshen up the view of my closet-scape.

Still warm enough to flaunt the legs with a flirty skirt... just add your favorite new over the knee boots like the Vienna from Barefoot Tess and layer on a cozy new sweater from the Cue! You will be ready for crisp, cool autumn evenings under the stars and nights that are meant for sleeping with the windows open. Maybe even some top-down road trips into the golden autumn afternoon.
